The Mac app
BrewPulse Free does not require an account. Your Homebrew package inventory and command output stay on your Mac unless you choose to copy and share them.
BrewPulse can send anonymous usage statistics through TelemetryDeck to measure installations, active use, retention, app-version adoption, refresh reliability, and package-action outcomes. You can turn this off in BrewPulse Settings.
Analytics include an anonymized installation identifier, event name, app and system versions, Mac architecture, timestamp, and broad success or failure categories. They never include package names, package inventory, commands, command output, file paths, account details, or other text from your Mac.
Homebrew may contact its own servers and third-party package sources while checking or changing packages. Homebrew's behavior and data practices are separate from BrewPulse.
Starting with 0.2.0, BrewPulse contacts GitHub when it checks for app updates and downloads an update you approve. These requests carry ordinary network information such as your IP address and user agent, but not your Homebrew package inventory or command output.
Command output stays local
BrewPulse keeps command output on your Mac unless you copy and share it. That output may contain package names, local paths, or messages from third-party installers. Review it before posting it publicly.
This website
The public site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure aggregated traffic and performance. These tools do not use cookies, and BrewPulse does not run advertising trackers or create advertising profiles.
Vercel processes information such as requested pages, referrers, approximate location, browser, operating system, device type, timestamps, and performance measurements. Download and source links open GitHub, which receives ordinary request information when you follow them. Other links to Homebrew and email are covered by those providers' policies.
Local settings
Apple's ServiceManagement framework controls launch at login. BrewPulse does not store credentials or install a privileged helper.
Questions and security
Use the support page for privacy questions. Report suspected security problems privately.
